Holy Saturday Reflection: The Stillness Before Transformation
Holy Saturday is a day of stillness and anticipation in our Serbian Orthodox tradition. While Christ's body lay in the tomb, an unseen victory was being accomplished as He descended to Hades to liberate the captives.
Our Serbian Orthodox community may experience times that feel like Holy Saturday—periods of waiting and uncertainty where God's work remains hidden from view. During these times, we maintain the patient faith that has characterized Serbian Orthodoxy through centuries of challenges.
Just as the tomb could not hold Christ, no earthly power can prevent God's will for our parish. Today's stillness prepares us for tomorrow's joy.
Join us at 9:00 AM for Divine Liturgy and at 10:00 PM as we begin the celebration of Christ's Resurrection.
